New Hand-Held Game Containment Accessory Product - Now Available

Protect expensive hand-held game cartridges from loss, and keep them close-at-hand for convenience.

Based on the need to contain the small, expensive hand-held game cartridges from loss, this father - daughter design team developed an accessory system which allows the small game cartridges to be connected to a metal chain much like a keys on a key chain keeping your games convenient, close at-hand and never lost.

Swarthmore, PA (www.GameChains.com) May 23, 2008
Since the inception of the portable game player, parents around the world have been in the position of hearing one of their kids complain about loosing there favorite hand-held game cartridge, or maybe they’ve found one under the car seat, in the sofa, or in the clothes dryer having been left in a pants pocket. Now, thanks to a father-daughter design team, the frustration of missing or lost game cartridges can be a thing of the past.

GameChains, a new accessory product, now available and compatible with Nintendo DS™ games, helps to alleviate that by joining the small and expensive cartridges onto a metal chain letting players switch games quickly and conveniently, but still leaving them removable from the chain. The GameChains tag line, written by the 9-year-old co-inventor says it all: “You don’t carry your keys without a key chain, why carry your games without GameChains!”

GameChains offers a perfect way to contain games while traveling on vacations, spending time at the pool, riding in the car or simply hanging around the house. The system of laser-cut tabs, metal chain and aggressive, but non-permanent adhesive keep the player’s games convenient and close-at-hand since the additional games hang from the back of the game in play.

Available now, and compatible with Nintendo DS™, and DS Lite™, GameChains can be purchased online at www.GameChains.com.

Meet the 9 year-old co-inventor

GameChains were upfor sale as part of the Swarthmore, PA "Kid-trepreneur" Sidewalk Sale on May 18th, 2008. Although it was rained out after about 90 minutes, Caroline was still able to sell six units and described the GamChains system to others who swung by our table.

GameChains almost made it onto the Big Idea with Donny Deutsch

After getting the call from The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch show the other day and recording a very short video for their Million Dollar Question segment asking about our logo, and some on-again, off-again scheduling that is natural on TV - the GameChains logo was flashed on screen for split-second during the show last night (April 9th, 2008).

They said that the show ran long in recording, which happens. So my actual video clip might not ever air. I’m not holding any grudge since we’re still working away launching what we believe to be the most interesting game-containment system for the hand-held game market.

Keep your eyes open and be sure to sign-up for our email list to be informed periodically about our product and its evolution.

Thanks for your support, and keep playing!

* A special thanks to the crew at The Big Idea show who tracked me down and were so great to deal with for the video segment. You guys haven’t heard the last from me!

We got the call from Donny Deutsch
Late on Wednesday April 2nd we got a call from the CNBC television show The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch. If it was the day before I would have sworn it was a friend messing with us for April Fools Day!

The scoop was they wanted to film a video clip for their Million Dollar Question segment they use at the end of the show. We FedEx’d samples, email photos of the product in use and in our direct mail shipper and logged on their WebEx site as instructed Thursday 4/3/2008.

After a brief dialog with the segment producer and about 30 minutes of practice with my two sentence question we captured it on the second take. Practice Practice!

The segment is supposed to air Thursday 4/10/2008. The show is on CNBC 10 PM EST. We hope you catch it, or maybe see it on www.bigidea.cnbc.com. If you saw it anywhere take second to drop your comments here. We’ll post a copy on our site as soon as we can.

GameChains are only available on www.GameChains.com right now (and sometimes Ebay for fun) but as we scale up we will be building a channel of regional retailers and will post a list on the web site so keep an eye out.
We’ve had many requests to build an online shopping system that will let purchasers build their own GameChains set, so we’re working on it. Soon you will be able to pick which colors of tabs and chains you want to perfectly customize your GameChains set.

Remember, the standard GameChains set includes 8 tabs: 2 Acid Green, 2 Blue, 2 Amber and 2 yellow, 1 powder coated metal ball-chain (white or black) and 10 adhesive pads to attach the tabs to your games for just $9.95.

And keep an eye open for our new shapes and colors to be available soon. Sign up for our email list to get a notice when new items and features are available.

Thanks for your support
